Jobs & Economic Impacts

Too often, high-tech projects only provide jobs and benefits to those with advanced degrees or highly specialized skills

The Lancaster AI Hub is different

It will create opportunities for individuals across all educational and experience levels, offering extraordinary potential for career growth.

The project will ultimately scale to up to 350 full-time positions, with roles ranging from data scientists and network engineers to facilities managers, safety specialists, supply chain professionals, security staff and more.

The economic impacts will extend far beyond the direct workforce. Local businesses across the region will benefit from working with the facility, from landscaping, maintenance and facility management companies, to electrical, plumbing, and more.

During the construction of Phase 1

The project is expected to create approximately 600 good-paying jobs. Total construction jobs created are estimated to be 1,500-2,000 across the project. To date, more than $80 million in subcontracts have been awarded, with 77% going to Eastern Pennsylvania companies, with nearly 90% fulfilled by local labor, and approximately 60% of contracts awarded to small or disadvantaged businesses.

In the near term, more than $6 billion of investment will generate thousands of construction, technical, and skilled trade jobs. Over the long term, the Lancaster AI Hub will become a cornerstone of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s economy by attracting talent and startup growth, while expanding local supply chains for decades to come.
