12 May Why does CoreWeave like Lancaster city? Co-founder shares at EDC meeting
CoreWeave co-founder Brian Venturo would rather invest in a data center project in Lancaster city than in California. He maintains it has nothing to do with water resources, since the centers it plans to operate here use closed-loop cooling systems.
“You go to California and the laws change every minute,” Venturo said Tuesday morning during the annual meeting breakfast of EDC Lancaster County, the county’s primary economic development agency.
CoreWeave plans to lease data centers that will replace two former LSC Communications printing plants in Lancaster city at 216 Greenfield Road and 1375 Harrisburg Pike. The projects’ combined budget is $10 billion. The first of two buildings at 216 Greenfield Road is expected to open next year.
